Ayrshire’s Poetry lovers are in for a double treat when a workshop on the life and work of Ireland’s most famous poet WB Yeats takes place in the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum at Alloway.
Crossroads Lifelong Learning Partnership has organised the workshop, which will be run by poet and tutor, Kate Hendry on Saturday. 1st August at 2pm. Isla Brown from the Learning Partnership said “We are absolutely delighted that Kate is coming to Ayrshire to bring Yeats to life for a new generation.
Kate said: “Scots seem fascinated by Yeats and his works. A workshop on his poems which I am running at the Edinburgh International Book Festival sold out very quickly.
“Both Yeats and Burns are internationally recognised as the leading literary figures of their time, and while I would never presume to try and compare them, it will be fascinating to discuss Yeats poems surrounded by the spirit of Burns.”
