The SNP Westminster Group has announced Corri Wilson, local MP for Ayr, Carrick and Cumnock, as their new spokesperson for Disabilities.

The MP, who was elected in the 2015 General Election, has been a member of the SNP’s Social Justice policy group for the past year, and has already spoken out on behalf of disabled constituents, particularly in relation to benefit changes.

Corri Wilson MP said: “I’m delighted to take on this very important role and will work hard to ensure the voices of those with disabilities or living with chronic illnesses are represented at Westminster. The SNP is committed to putting dignity and respect at the heart of social security in Scotland and I’m keen to do everything I can at Westminster to improve the lives of disabled people across Scotland.”
