Remembrance services to be held across Carrick

Remembrance services will be held across Carrick this week to remember those who gave their lives in conflicts across the globe.

Girvan will remember on Sunday November 9th at the war memorial in Stair Park at 10am before the parade through the town to the North Parish Church before finishing at the Gardens of Remembrance in The Avenue.

Maybole’s annual Remembrance Sunday service, jointly organised by Royal British Legion Scotland and Maybole Community Council, will be held in Maybole Town Hall on Sunday November 9 at 10:00am prompt (doors open at 9:30am).

Light refreshments will be provided at the Town Hall after the parade has returned from the War Memorial.

To mark Armistice Day on Tuesday November 11, there will be a commemoration at Greenside at 11am where there will be a wreath and poppy crosses laying ceremony.

The St Colmon and Ballantrae parishes will host services on Sunday 9th November at 9.30am at the Colmonell War memorial, 10am at St Colmon Church, Colmonell, 11.30am at Ballantrae Church, 12.30pm at Ballantrae War memorial and finally on the 9th a service will be held at 3pm at Barrhill War memorial.

On armistice day on Tuesday 11th November at 11am there will be an act of remembrance and service at Pinwherry School war memorial and also at 2pm at Heronsford War memorial.

Barr parish will be holding a memorial service on Sunday 9th November at around 10.45am with a silence to remember the fallen following at 11am.
