Scottish Water is advising road users that the slip road from the A77 onto Maybole Road in Ayr will be closed for three to four weeks from October 3 for work on a water mains upgrade.
The £1.2m project to replace more than a mile of water mains and improve other stretches of pipes in the Maybole Road area starts on that date.
Project manager Ian Piggott, said: “After liaising with South Ayrshire Council’s roads department, it has been agreed that the work will require a temporary road closure on the slip road from the A77 onto Maybole Road. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused but these road traffic management measures are necessary to ensure the scheme can be carried out as efficiently as possible.”
The company say the improvements will provide security of water supply.
