Carrick Round Table will be launching a fundraising project at Maybole Gala Day on Saturday.
25 years ago Carrick Round Table suffered its darkest moment when one of its brightest lights and most committed tablers, David Sommerville, died in a road traffic accident.
Mr Sommerville had been Carrick Round Table Chairman from 1989-1990, the year preceding his death.
As a result of the determination of David’s fellow tablers, friends and family to build a fitting memorial to a young man and tabler who had been committed to doing his best for his local community, the Sommerville Pavilion in the Glebe Park, Maybole was erected.
It was Carrick Round Table’s largest fundraising campaign but in recent years the Pavilion has fallen into a state of disrepair and it is now in need of some long overdue TLC.
Carrick Round Table are pleased to confirm that this year working along with Carrick Rugby Club, Maybole Amateurs, Carrick Colts and the Glebe Committee on a programme of fundraising.
Carrick Round Table will be at the Sommerville Pavilion on Maybole Gala Day this Saturday starting some work and promoting fundraising events.
