There was a very good attendance of the local community on the 11th December at the Christmas Songs of Praise organised by the Rotary Club and held in the North Parish Church by the kind permission of the Kirk Session.

Rousing singing of well known carols accompanied by Mrs. M. Mortimer on the organ set the pattern for the programme and a delightful mixture of seasonal musical items were provided by the South Carrick Churches Choir, Girvan and Sacred Heart Primary Schools, the talented Nicol Family, readings by Rotary Club members and a stirring selection of bagpipe music by Rotarian Jim Crawford.

The Revd. Jim Guthrie offered a closing prayer and pronounced the benediction.

The Club is grateful to all who contributed in any way to the success of the evening. A collection which raised £610.50 will be shared between the Clic Sargent Fund, Prestwick and Combat Stress, Hollybush House, Ayr.

The Club offers seasonal greetings to all readers and friends.
