BUSINESSES in Ayrshire are being encouraged to enter the race to find Scotland’s most environmentally-aware firms as the 2012 Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland Awards (VIBES) launch.
The leading environmental awards scheme is now in its thirteenth year. It aims to recognise businesses of all sizes and sectors employing environmental best practice in their day-to-day activity to cut down on resource use, increase sustainability, improve reputation and benefit the company’s bottom-line.
“The VIBES Awards recognise Ayrshire businesses which have shown commitment, taken action, and demonstrated significant achievement in reducing their impact on the environment”, explains Gillian Bruce, VIBES chair.
“Last year the competition was of a very high standard with many deserving entrants and we hope that even more of Ayrshire’s leading businesses will enter this year to be in with a chance of gaining recognition for their sustainable practices.”
Over the past decade, the free-to-enter awards have produced winners from across Scotland, drawn from a range of sectors including: manufacturing; food and drink; transport; environmental services; oil and gas and leisure.
A series of special regional events will be held across the country in April and May where businesses will be able to find out more information about the awards and meet some of the VIBES steering group who will be on hand to answer any questions.
Businesses can book a place at the regional events by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org
