A Girvan woman is inviting residents to share their memories of the town.
Shirley McBride is set to host ‘blether and coffee’ sessions in the McKechnie Institute starting on Tuesday April 7 between 1pm-4pm.
All generations are welcome to come along to share their memories of the town including shops, attractions and much more and Shirley plans to have an exhibition in the McKechnie Institute later in 2015 regarding the shop information.
Shirley is also hoping to write a major book about Girvan which could be released in one big volume or several smaller ones.
She says she is a true Girvanite and proud of her hometown and wishes to document its history further.
Other ideas she has planned include the possibility of a DVD and a website and she is indebted to Ian Jones of the History society for his help so far.
At the sessions Shirley hopes to tie down exact locations of shops and get more information about Girvan.
