A Girvan Air Cadet is celebrating after coming second in an aircraft recognition competition.
Cameron Thompson who is part of the 1371 Girvan Air Cadets, recently travelled down to RAF Cranwell to compete in the Corps Aircraft Recognition Competiton.
Cameron had already won gold medals at wing and regional levels earlier this year and he followed this up with a second place finish in the Under 16’s individual category.
The competiton asks participants to recognise pictures from aeroplanes when they are shown from a distance and Cameron scored a terrific 28/30 to finish runner-up.
A post on the 1371 Air Cadets Facebook page said: “We would like to congratulate Cadet Thompson on his achievement and for all of his hard work and dedication prior to the competition.
“Also a well done to all of the staff and cadets of 1371 Girvan Squadron for supporting him through the competition and we are all very proud of him. Well done again!”
The Air Cadets meet on Monday and Thursday nights between 7-9.
