carrick commuters travelling south will face almost a month of disruption due to roadwaorks around Stranraer.
As part of water works at Loch Ryan there will be roadworks around Stranraer from July 25 for three weeks.
Both parts of the work start during August and will last for around three weeks.
Stephen Hepburn, project manager for Scottish Water, said: “Although there will be a small amount of disruption due to these works, they are necessary to accommodate the changes to infrastructure that will ultimately allow the Loch Ryan waste water treatment works to operate and will greatly improve the water quality in Loch Ryan.
“We are committed to improving the environment while causing minimum inconvenience to local people, so we have planned the work to take place during the school holidays and we have worked closely with the roads department on the alternative arrangements.”
Scottish Water has also set up a dedicated web page on its website to allow the progress of the project to be followed online.
