Trump takes on the ice bucket challenge for ALS

Donald Trump has become one of the latest celebrities to take on the ice bucket challenge that has spread around the world.

The Trump Turnberry undertook the challenge on the roof of Trump Towers in New York on Thursday morning.

The ice bucket challenge sees people have buckets of ice poured over them was set up to raise awareness of amyotrphic lateral sclerosis. Donations have also been made to Motor Neurone disease charities and MacMillan Cancer research.

Trump had been nominated by Homer Simpson, Mike Tyson and wrestling boss Vince McMahon and finally accepted the challenge. The ice was poured over him by Miss Universe and Miss USA, two competitions which Trump owns. He then nominated President Barack Obama and his two sons Donald Jr and Eric.

At a local level, the Carrick Gazette staff have all undertaken the challenge with Editor David Walker, reporter Ewan McQueen and Advertising Sales Executive Victoria Barrowcliffe all feeling the cold.

And South Carrick Community Leisure chairman Andrew Sinclair also undertook the challenge- but with a twist.

In his video which was filmed at the site where the new Girvan swimming pool will be situated he decided to nominate the three Girvan and South Carrick Councillors to undergo the challenge.

And he called on Councillors Alec Clark, Alec Oattes and John McDowall to make a donation to the funding for the pool.
