Village goes online

a NEW south Carrick village website has gone live.

Visitors to will be able to find out information on where to stay, food and drink, shops and services and what to see and do in the village and surrounding area.

The community council’s Development Grout have been working hard over the recent months to develop an action plan for future developments within the village and one of its’ first actions has been to start up their own website.

Development Group chairman, Stephen Ogston, said that the website is only at phase one and the team will be looking at ways to improving and add more to it in the future.

He said: “Phase one of the website is aimed at visitors to the village with details of where to stay, food and drink, shops and services and what to see and do.

“Further phases of the website’s development will include information about local walks, local history and details of the various groups in the village, their activities and forthcoming events.”

And the group intends to work with the wider community to try and maximise the benefits of the website.

Stephen continued: “A small group has been steering the work on our proposed action plan so far but, over the coming months, we intend to share our thinking with the wider local community.

“There is no doubt that some of the actions in the action plan we can undertake ourselves but, for some of the developments and improvements we have in mind, it will be important to work in partnership with others.”
