With the nomination process now over, you, our readers, have spoken.
We can now reveal the Carrick Gazette Best Bar 2014 nominees which are The Royal Hotel and Flynn’s Boatyard
Having a pint is a great British tradition, whether you do that at your local pub, club or bar in town after work, it’s a time for relaxation.
A bit of quiet time to yourself, or the perfect opportunity to meet up with friends, share some drinks and have a bite to eat.
Finding that regular watering hole and calling it your own is just as important to some as picking where you live for many pub goers.
Does it serve real ale? Is the food good?
Does it show sport?
Does it have a dart board or even a quiz night?
Maybe you go to watch the football with your mates, enjoy a meal and a glass wine with family, or perhaps you have a competitive streak and want to win the weekly quiz?
Our great competition provides a fantastic opportunity for all local establishments where you are likely to prop yourself on the bar regularly to shout about how great they are!
Some were nominated for their outstanding food or good choice of real ales while others were submitted because of their friendly staff or value for money.
