cancer charity Marie Curie host the ‘Walk Ten’ next month to raise as much cash as possible for their organisation.
‘Walk Ten’ which is being held at Dumfries House, near Cumnock on Saturday, August 6, is a 10k evening walk, followed by music, entertainment and fireworks at 10pm to mark the beginning of a Marie Curie nurse’s shift.
Sarah Nisbet, regional events marketing assistant, said: “This is the first time that we’ve held the event in the area and we are hoping we can get as many people from Ayrshire to join us as possible.
“Most importantly all of the funds that we raise from the event stay within the region, allowing us to continue to provide nurses, free of charge to care for those with terminal cancer and other life limiting illnesses in Ayrshire.
“Unfortunately we do not have any budget for advertising, however I was hoping as a huge favour, you may be able to offer me some space to promote our event and enable us to increase awareness of the work of our Marie Curie nurses within the local area, and maximise the fundraising potential of the event.”
