Girvan’s Asda is to host a Winter Roadshow in conjunction with the Scottish Government to ensure people are ready for winter.
South Ayrshire Council says it has been working hard putting plans in place to ensure that services continue to be delivered during winter 2013/14 at the right time, in the right place, across South Ayrshire whatever the weather may bring.
Councillor John McDowall, Environment and Sustainability Portfolio Holder for the Council said: “As part of our preparation for winter we are supporting the Scottish Government’s ‘Ready for Winter’ campaign to tackle extreme weather conditions should they take a grip on the country.
“Focusing on four themes, in the home, in the community, on the move and in the workplace, we want everyone to be prepared.
“It is very important that individuals and businesses ensure they have plans in place to deal with situations that are caused by extreme winter weather. We have already planned our winter road maintenance programme.
“Giving people information is vital and we will keep our website updated with the latest weather conditions, routes that have been gritted, where the public can find our grit bins and details of a 24 hour emergency helpline. We have linked our website page to the Government’s Ready for Winter? website to make it as quick and easy as possible to access information.
As part of the national campaign there will be awinter roadshow on Thursday 14 November at Asda in Girvan.
