Vale of Girvan went into the second round of the Ayrshire Amateur Cup with an impressive win against Irvine Town at the weekend.
Girvan travelled to Irvine for the game against Irvine Town in the first round of the Ayrshire Amateur Cup.
Irvine started well but it wasn’t long before Vale found their feet and played some nice possession football.
half an hour into the game and Bone played a long ball out to the left which was picked up by ‘Gap’ who played it up for Darren Mitchell who ran into space. Some nice passing resulted in Gap sidefooting the ball into the net to open the scoring.
From a free kick Sandilands then found Mitchell who bulleted a header into the net to double Vale’s lead.
A Lee corner was headed back across the danger area by Mitchell and Noddy was there to slam the ball home.
Five minutes later Irvine scored after a scrappy clearance from a corner kick.
All round it was a very impressive performance by Vale with some very nice football being played. there were some great one-twos and some great long passes as well. Doubly impressive as Irvine are a division above Vale.
The result means its four out of four so far this season for Vale with three league wins.
Vale would also like to thank Sandy Clark for donating the match ball.
This Saturday Vale entertain Dirrans Athletic in the second round of the Ayrshire Amateur Cup with kick off at 2pm this Saturday at Victory Park.
