Well we managed to splash round Somerset Park to beat Brechin 2-1 but a midweek visit to Cowdenbeath proved very costly indeed in as much that they thumped us 4-2 and also put a number of our players on the injury list for our visit to Stranraer.
Well Stranraer proved a disappointment for Ayr United fans as without a midfield we were very poor.
It only goes to show how much we rely on Ross Docherty and Brian Gilmour who usually dominate the midfield and keep the forwards supplied with good passes. They were both missing through injury and we lost 1-0 but could have won if we had managed to have some control over the midfield.
We should have had Robbie Crawford covering the midfield but either he or the manager let us down badly. With no game this coming Saturday I hope we will have time to get over the injury problems before taking on Cowdenbeath at home.
