Ayr Burners Cycling greeted the new year with style with a ride up the Carrick Hills.
Despite the wild and windy conditions 13 riders set out for the journey out the coast to the hill.
Junior riders Stuart Campbell and Harry McGarvie were the first to the top of the main pass where they wisely decided not to proceed to the masts due to the dangerous winds.
On Saturday 3rd the group held a skills training session aimed at youths and novices around the Auchincruive estate. The next meeting of Ayr Burners is a 40km led ride around the Ayrshire Alps on January 17th starting in Straiton at 0930. This is ideal preparation for any riders taking on a Sportive event in 2015.
Since launching at the end of December, Ayr Burners Cycling already has more than 20 members. Visit www.ayrburners.org
