Clydebank played host to round four of the Scottish CycloCross series, with over 300 eager bicycle racers gathering to ride in the shadow of the famous Auchentoshan Distillery.

A technical course awaited the eight riders from Ayr Roads CC - Harry Fairbairn BMW - Sprockets.com, with damp slippery conditions ensuring that skillful riding and good technique would be the key to a successful day in the saddle.

The first Ayr Roads CC rider of the day was Harry McGarvie who was competing in the under 14 category, where an excellent 12th place was secured by the young club rider. Janet Erskine continued on from her impressive 2014 Cyclocross debut at irvine Beach last week by finishing 13th in the highly competitive ladies event, where Isla Short of Team Thomsons Cycles continued her series dominance with an unyielding performance.

Four Ayr Roads members took to the start line for the jam packed veteran mens race, with 100 entrants negotiating themselves around the spectator lined route. Gary MacRae of Leslie Bikes took the top spot, with Glasgow United filling out the remaining podium spots, JP Baxter and Paul Gibson came home in 29th and 39th places respectively for the Ayr club.
