Farmer Robert Buchanan of Ballantrae’s Laigh Kilphin Farm has made the final shortlist for a prestigious award.

The Cogent’s Best of Visions competition is celebrating 20 years of the most robust and successful progeny programme available in the UK.

The farm’s 10 year old Joylan Roxall daughter cow Tintotell Roxell Diana has made the final shortlist.

Robert said: “Tintoview Roxell Diana is one of our herd favourites, we think she is the best cow we’ve bred at Laigh Kilphin.”

“We are all absolutely delighted to have been chosen as one of the Best of Visions finalists as it was a great opportunity to promote the herd.

“The Visions Programme has given us early access to Cogent’s top young sires, allowing our herd’s genetics to develop faster with competitively priced semen. We cannot wait for the next stage of the competition.”

Robert and the other two finalists will attend Agri Scot tonight (November 18) where the winner will be announced and the top Cogent Visions daughter of the last 20 years will be crowned.

Robert and the farm have enjoyed regular success including at this years Stranraer Show in July.
