Two Carrick men have excelled on the oche at the Scottish championships in Glenrothes.
Steve Robertson from Girvan, a member of staff at William Grants and Sons, and Jim McEwan from Kirkmichael were crowned Scottish Pairs champions at the weekend.
The event was played on Saturday with the top talent in Scotland coming together for the national championships with all the top players in the country present.
Steve and Jim found themselves 2-0 down in the final against former world cup and European singles winner Gary Stone and Jamie Bain but dug deep to run out 3-2 winners and become national pairs champions.
Steve plays his darts for local team Athletic Tavern B who play in the Girvan and district league and represents Ayrshire in the national county league.
On December 4 Steve will try to qualify for the Winmau world masters and for the Lakeside world championships.
Having won the Greater Glasgow open Steve has the right to try and qualify for these prestigious events. Steve is seeking some sponsorship and hopes local businesses would like to come forward and help him out and sponsor him on his journey to the top.
