11 Club Members left Beresford Terrace on a fine Sunday morning for the weekly Social Club Run. The group set off up the Corton Road taking in Dalrymple, Crosshill, Dailly and Blackie’s Brae before arriving in Barr. 3 of the riders decided to head back to Ayr from this point via the ‘Ayrshire Alp’ Glenalla climb. However, the majority of the group headed down towards the Newton Stewart – Girvan road before turning right to head back up to Pinmore. The route back to Ayr continued along the picturesque Assel Valley with the riders then heading down a quiet road from Penkill to Killochan Castle before turning right towards Wallacetown. Maybole was the next port of call before the days enjoyable riding was completed by heading in the Culroy road. Mileage in the legs for the riders was approximately 70 on return.
