Dailly youngster Robby McCrorie was a footballing hero for Scotland on Monday night as he produced a world class save to help Scotland Under 17s beat their German counterparts.
The Scots secured a famous 1-0 win to get their European Championship campaign right back on track after suffering a 2-0 loss to Portugal in their opening game on Friday.
A Scott Wright header one minute into the second half was enough to secure the three points but McCrorie had the final say with a sensational one handed save from an injury time free kick 19 yards out by Allesandro Fiore Tapia.
The 16 year old who has just signed his first professional contract with Rangers dived across his goal to tip the ball away to meaning that a draw against Switzerland will be enough for the young Scots to progress to the semi-finals.
The game ending save was just the boost McCrorie needed after he was at fault for the two Portugal goals on Friday and he now goes into Thursday’s game against Switzerland feeling confident again.
That game is live on British Eurosport 2 with a 5pm kick off so be sure to tune in to see if Robby and his team mates stay on course for European Championship glory.
