Girvan darts player wins Fife doubles event

Congratulations to the Boarshead of Colmonell after they secured the Samuel Clark consolation cup on Monday night after defeating the Royal 6-4 in the final.

Grants worker Steve (longshanks ) Robertson travelled to Fife to play in the Fife Open at the weekend. Steve won through to the last 16 on the Sunday in the singles and the doubles and on the Sunday Steve played excellent winning the doubles with partner Andy Boulton and coming runner up in the final of the mens singles event.

It was a great achievement for Steve as the field contained many Scottish internationals. Afterwards Steve said he feels he is close to getting back to his best ever form and with more big competitions coming up his timing couldnt be more greater.

This Monday sees the Girvan and district league players line up for the prestigious Girvan singles in the Vaults, registration is for no later than 7pm with 1st game starting at around 7:15pm.

The Girvan doubles will be the following week in the Victory Bar with the same start time.
