Girvan win freewheeling game

Girvan Primary came out tops in a high scoring 7-4 win against Symington in a league seeding game.

Girvan opened the scoring courtesy of Kenny Sloan.

Although dominating possession Girvan gave away an equaliser through an own goal but their lead was restored by Calum Mcdowall.

Scott Jaszewski made it 3-1 just before half time.

The second half started with Girvan again dominating possession and Kenny Sloan soon added a fourth for Girvan.

But Symington came back into the game making it 4-2 and an unpredictable, freewheeling game ensued with goals galore coming from both sides.

Ross Windsor scored for Girvan with Symington replying almost immediately. Calum McDowall got his second of the day but again Symington pulled the Girvan lead back.

But Ross Windsor popped up in the penalty area to slide in a well-executed goal to kill the game off for Girvan as full time came and the winter light was fading.

Calum McDowall marked his debut with two goals but well done also to Honor Stewart-Fairbairn and Nathan De-Mulder who also played their debuts for the club.

Many thanks to Miss Rodgers for helping escort the children to and from the venue at Hamilton Park and the parents who turned up to support the team.

Girvan: Aimee Slavin, Mason McIlwraith, Mason Brook, Scott Jaszewski, Kenny Sloan, Ross Windsor, Calum McDowall, Honor Stewart-Fairbairn and Nathan De-Mulder.
