Girvan Youth U16 added another 3 points to their tally but oh how they had to work for it.

With Victory park unplayable yet again Carrick Academy was the venue on a glorious Sunday morning.

Girvan started very brightly with McCulloch galloping out of defence fed the ball through to (Dusty Danzo) Storrie who hit a thunderous shot from 30 yards which screamed past the Troon keeper and into the net to keep his very impressive goal a game going.

(Dusty Danzo)Storrie then became provider playing in Rice who’s just turned 16 who coolly slotted the pall past the Troon keeper.

Girvan were cruising but then it all started to go horribly wrong. McAvoy gifting Troon a penalty after a rash challenge inside the box.

Troon were spurred on by this and could’ve added another couple before the break but for some excellent goalkeeping from Gillespie in goal.

Girvan made changes in the 2nd half bringing on Ross, Dorans,Nesbitt,Holland & Allison but Troon were still on the upper foot and again some excellent goalkeeping this time from Ross in goal.

Troon soon equalised and they deserved it.

McAvoy made another rash challenge in the middle of the park and the ref immediately reached for his back pocket and ordered him off.

Dorans moved back into centre mid and was outstanding for the remainder of the game raining shots down on the keeper.

Girvan eventually won the game with the energetic Gracie unleashing a fantastic strike which beat the Troon keeper.

Man of the match with another steady performance at the back was Clarke Boon.

Next week Girvan Youth are at home again to the Hurlford boys Barrlieth.
