Girvan Youth U16s travelled up to The Grange Academy to take on league leaders Crosshouse in the semi-final of the league cup.
The opening stages were evenly contested with Girvan matching the threat from the Crosshouse midfield Allison and Hamilton with their work cut out.
Crosshouse opened the scoring with what looked a very soft goal there striker hitting from 20 yards out and the ball slipping past Gillespie.
Girvan started to press and got the equaliser before the break Rice playing Gracie in who blasted into the net.
Crosshouse tried to get back into the game but were denied by a series of great saves from Gillespie.
In the second half Girvan went for it and should have taken the lead. Gracie hit a thunderous strike and the Crosshouse keeper made a sensational save to deny him.
Hamilton was next, his shot hitting the underside of the bar and bouncing back out.
With 15 minutes remaining and Girvan tiring Crosshouse took the lead an error in the Girvan defence allowed there striker to bear down on goal and slot past Ross in goal.
Crosshouse spurred on from this and added another again through a mistake in the defence, and before the end added another to deservedly win the game Crosshouse 4 Girvan Youth 1.
We wish them the very best in the final against KSC Town. Player of the match after a really hard shift was Mark Allison.
