Girvan Youth wrap up big win at Galston

Girvan Youth travelled in to Galston on a cold wet Sunday morning and with most parks unplayable Galston moved the game to Loudon Academy and on to the very impressive 4g park.

Galston started brightly and soon forced saves from Ross in goal, Girvan tried to respond but the opening stages belonged to Galston who were awarded a penalty after McCulloch fouled inside the box and picked up a yellow card for his troubles, Galston opened the scoring from the spot.

The upset of the penalty spurred Girvan on and after some exceptional play from Taylor which resulted in him being upended in the box, Rice converted the spot kick.

The rest of the first half was an evenly contested affair but before the end Girvan were awarded a corner which Rice curled in to the top of the net.

A reshuffle of the squad for the 2nd half saw Girvan totally dominate and add another 5 goals, Holland was 1st with a lovely turn curled a beauty past the keeper.

Holland added another after a goalmouth scramble forcing the ball over the line.

Gracie was then brought down in the box and he converted the awarded penalty.

Ross now playing outfield galloped past 3 defenders and rifled into the net and Hamilton who was on fine form all game wrapped things up at the end to leave the score Galston 1 Girvan Youth 7.

Next week Girvan are away to TASS Saltire.
