Maybole Juniors defeated Yoker Athletic 3-1 in the Superleague First Division on Saturday and moved up to second place in the table.
That was despite finishing with nine men.
Maybole started well and took the lead on 11 minutes when Robert Patterson was fouled in the box and he scored from the spot.
Yoker came back strongly with Martin Barclay making a fine save in goal.
Marc Dyer came close to doubling Maybole’s lead on 21 minutes but after rounding the keeper he found the side netting. Barclay made another save on 31 minutes turning the ball away for a corner before Dyer and Patterson missedfurther chances.
A last ditch tackle from Craig Reid stopped an equaliser before a second penalty was given near half time. A long ball found Kenny Parris and his shot was handled by a defender and Patterson scored from the spot again.
Yoker pulled a goal back on 48 minutes before Maybole restored their two goal advantage on 67 minutes when Dyer set up Dinwoodie whose shot looked to be going wide before Andy Stevenson turned it in.
Yoker went down to ten men on 69 minutes when a reckless challenge on Mark Doolan resulted in a red card and the aftermath saw Dinwoodie also sent off.
Fifteen minutes from time Barclay was sent off after he handled outside the box but d Maybole held on to win 3-1.Maybole are at home on Saturday against Rob Roy at 2pm.
Girvan slumped to a 5-0 home defeat against Lugar on Saturday. The visitors took the lead on seven minutes when a corner was slotted home.
A 15 yard drive on 28 minutes saw the lead doubled before the away side scored two quick goals in the second half.
Lugar got a third on 49 minutes before Steven Shankland latched onto a kick out and volleyed home on 52 minutes.
The fifth came two minutes from time when a shot beat Colin Robertson from 12 yards.
