Monday the 12th May saw Dad’s Army playing their Captain’s Prize competition. Jim Millar was this year’s winner with 18 points, taking it on count back from Jack Bainbridge. Tom Smith was third with 17 points. Jim Millar won the longest drive and, not content with being in the paper once already this year, Jim Herd won nearest the pin!

If Donald Trump is looking for a quick game while he is visiting his new purchase, I am sure Dad’s Army would make him more than welcome! We would love to show him what a great course and membership we have.

The ladies’ Coronation Fours was won by Pat Gray and Helena Menhinick on Wed the 14th

Sat 16th was another tough day of wet weather for the Saturday players. Frank Murdoch holed a good putt on the last to win with a 75. Scott Kirk was second with a 77, beating John Neilan on the better inward nine.

As a result of bad weather and holidays, the winter doubles final was eventually able to be played. It was a very close game, with Brian Edwards and John McPartlin narrowly edging out David and George McCulloch.
