Maybole shared eight goals in a thriller with Yoker at Ladywell Stadium on Saturday with a 92nd minute equaliser from Andy Stevenson keeping their slim promotion hopes alive.
Maybole keeper Scott Johnstone was also in fine form keeping the visitors at bay on a number of occasions and he was called into action early on tipping a drive onto the bar on five minutes.
Yoker’s dominance finally told on 36 minutes when midfielder Darren Jones netted.
It didn’t take long for Maybole to equalise though with David Cunningham scoring on 40 minutes as Carlo Walker’s men looked to go in level at the break.
However, Yoker retook the lead on 43 minutes when Steven Reilly latched on to a long ball and slotted past Johnstone.
Maybole were back on level terms ten minutes after the break with Stuart Peacock heading home to make it 2-2 but again Yoker quickly went ahead again with Gary Arbuckle netting.
Yoker looked to be in command when Jones got his second of the match on 62 minutes to make it 4-2.
However Peacock gave Maybole a lifeline with 15 minutes to go as he once again headed home to make it 4-3 to the visitors.
And with Yoker being reduced to ten men, Maybole piled on the pressure and Andy Stevenson notched a 92 minute equaliser to make it 4-4.
Maybole remain third in the first division but are running out of games to ensure promotion.
They have another home game against Largs on Saturday (21st February) with kick off at 2pm.
