Fife was the destination for South Ayrshire’s newest cycling group - The Carrick Cycling Club, as three members headed to the Alistair Speed memorial time trial.
60 riders took to the start line in fine weather for the 50 mile test on the roads around Freuchie which are renound for fast times when the conditions are favourable. Kenny Armstrong shattered his personal best with an outstanding time of 1hr 49 minutes and 40 seconds - Only 16 secs behind eventual winner John Entwhistle, which placed Kenny in a well deserved 2nd overall.
Mick Robb, pictured, and Mark Skilling were 12th and 14th respectively with times of 1.58.40 and 1.58.04. The three results helped Carrick CC to win the team prize with an agregate time 4 hours 46 minutes and 33 seconds which equated to an average speed of over 31 miles per hour.
