An innovative sport and fitness programme is coming to Maybole in the new year.

“Fit’ba” has been developed by Maybole Community Council in conjunction with Ayr United Football Academy and South Ayrshire Council’s leisure services to give men the opportunity to get back into a fitness regime.

Ayr United’s Football Academy will work with South Ayrshire Council’s Leisure Services to pilot a unique programme in Maybole to give men of all ages a chance to take up exercise again - at their own pace.

The programme is open to men young and old at all levels of fitness and commences on Monday 13 January 2014 at 7.15 pm in Carrick Academy.

The 12 week programme will consist of

• Health assessments at the beginning, middle and end

• Nightly health advice session

• Weight management tracking

• exercise session and football based exercise game and you can opt out of any part you’re not happy with

Ayr United Football Academy (AUFA) is a forward thinking organisation delivering sport through football to the local community and encouraging participation in sport.

Using SFA qualified coaches the aim is to ensure that Fit’ba Maybole is both fun and a learning experience for all of the participants.

Not only is there an opportunity for those who participate to refresh long lost football skills but there is an opportunity to get fit, lose weight and be part of a unique pilot that we hope will spread to other parts of Ayrshire.

South Ayrshire Council’s Leisure Services will carry out the Health Assessments and provide the health advice, weight tracking and non-football exercise sessions.

You can opt in or out of any part of the programme you wish as long as you take the health check at the beginning of the programme.
