Norway’s Suzann Pettersen is the early second round clubhouse leader at the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Turnberry.
The 34 year-old followed up her round of 68 yesterday with a three under par 69 as she joined South Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim at the top on seven under par.
The South Korean was due to tee off her second round at 12.32, with conditions worsening on the Ailsa Course as winds picked up.
Norway’s Pettersen was tied for second in the Ricoh Women’s British Open last year, finishing a shot behind Mo Martin. She already has two women’s majors to her name winning the 2013 Evian Championship and the 2007 PGA Championship.
Teenage sensation Lydia Ko from New Zealand is currently on the course but dropped a shot at the second hole to drop back to -5.
Scotland’s Catriona Matthew was playing with Pettersen but shot a five over 77 to finish four over, but she might still have an outside chance of making the cut.
