Plenty of goal action for Girvan primary

On Wednesday, January 29 in dry but cold conditions Girvan Primary School played Kincaidston Primary at Hamilton park in a league match.

In an exciting game with plenty of goal action the score ended up 10-8 for Girvan.

The visitors were on the front foot from the start and within a few minutes were two goals up.

However Kenny Sloan soon took control of the game and with some excellent movement courtesy of Aaron Mooney and Calum Ingram on the wings Girvan had equalised with goals from Aaron and Alan harkness.

Kincaidston scored another goal but Alan responded quickly to make it 3-3 at half time.

In the second half Girvan scored another two goals in quick succession with Alan getting his hat trick and Kenny getting his name of the score sheet.

From then on although both sides were scoring freely Girvan was always in the lead and if it was not for the visiting team’s resiliant defence and excellent goalkeeper Girvan’s lead could have been evven greater.

By the end of the game Alan had scored five with Aaron bagging four and Kenny one.

Well done to Cooper McClymont, Jack McKenzie and Joe Clark who played their debuts for the club.

Many thanks go to Mrs Clark for transport and refreshments and to the parents who turned up to support Girvan.
