Support Carrick’s sporting sides tomorrow

It’s time to show your support for Carrick’s sporting sides this weekend.

Both Girvan FC and Carrick RFC face massive home ties tomorrow (Saturday) so let’s make sure home advantage counts.

Girvan FC are in Scottish Junior Cup action at Hamilton Park against Rutherglen Glencairn in the fourth round (kick off 1.45pm.)

Alan Cotton’s men beat Ashfield 4-3 in a thriller in the last round after a 4-4 draw up in Glasgow.

And despite Girvan playing a Division below tomorrow’s opponents, they fancy their chances of another scalp.

Cotton told the Gazette: “We’ve done our homework and know what to expect. I feel they are similar to Ashfield in quality.

“Hopefully we can use the home advantage to its potential.”

Tickets are just £4.00 for adults and £2.00 for OAP’s and under 16’s.

Up in Maybole, Carrick RFC take on Garnock RFC in a mouth watering promotion clash in RBS West Division Two at Carrick Academy (kick off 2pm).

Carrick currently sit second in the league behind tomorrow’s visitors and will be eager to gain revenge for their last minute defeat in October to the league leaders.

And they will also want to put some ground between themselves and third placed Oban who are just three points behind Carrick in the race for promotion.

If Carrick beat Garnock tomorrow, they will also end their opponents 13 match winning streak in the league this season, so they have a further incentive to gain victory.
