Girvan set themselves up for a top of the table clash at home to Darvel on Saturday after a good away win.
The Seasiders beat Ardeer 5-1 with the hard work done before the break seeing Girvan go in 4-1 up.
Paul Cameron opened the scoring with a penalty before Tony Murphy and Rab Patterson added two more.
Ardeer then pulled a goal back before Paul Cameron added a second.
Rab Patterson then claimed a second on the day and Girvan’s fifth to tie up the scoring.
The result leaves Girvan sitting in second place in the West of Scotland Ayrshire District League on 22 points, ahead of Saturday’s opponents Darvel on goal difference.
Irvine Vics lead on 31 points but they have played four more games than Girvan.
Girvan boss Peter Leonard said the condition of the pitches was a problem at this time of year and they were pleased to have come away with an away win last Saturday.
“We’re trying to keep up a bit of momentum just now,” said the Girvan boss.
“The game with darvel will be a good game, they’re a decent team. We beat them up at their place at the beginning of the season and we expect a tight game on Saturday.”
Girvan may have two or three injury worries but these will be assessed during the week.
“Darvel may well be in the same boat as well,” added Peter Leonard.
Girvan kick off against Darvel on Saturday, January 30 at 1.45pm at Hamilton Park.
