After last weekend’s exciting road race, Time Trialling was back on the agenda for the testers of Ayr Roads-Harry Fairbairn BMW-Sprockets.com.
The Jason MacIntyre Memorial 10 mile TT is held in honour of a great Scottish cycling talent, who was tragically killed in 2008. Jason represented Scotland at the Commonwealth games, and was also a British champion three times in the Time Trialling discipline. The chosen route for the event was the Westferry course at Inverclyde, which is famed for its fast times when the conditions are favourable.
Seven Ayr Roads riders took to the start ramp, with Brian Nicol placing highest for the club, 26th position, in an impressive time of 22.27. Toni MacIntosh continued her excellent early season form by taking the ladies prize for Ayr Roads CC, with a time of 23:21. The winning performance of the day went to Chris Smart of Paisley Velo Race Team with an outstanding time of 20:07, equating to an average speed of 29.82 miles per hour over the ten mile course.
