Pinbraid fishery at Colmonell held its Troutmasters final recently, and the competitors fished all day in high winds making casting quite difficult.
The winner was Tom Wallace with three fish for 9lbs 3ozs. Tom Wallace is originally from Ayrshire but recently moved down to Somerset.
He qualified at Pinbraid last year and travelled up especially for the event.
He will now represent Carrick at Grafham Water in Cambridgeshire in the UK final in September. This competition heralds the opening of the summer season at the extremely popular Pinbraid fishery and anyone wishing to book for parties or competitions should contact Jimmy Wood on 07810 778534.
Second place went to Andrew Scobie from Dailly, with three fish at 7lbs and third place was won by Robin McLean from Stranraer, with two fish at 7lbs.
The heaviest fish was caught by Robin McLean and weighed 4lbs 8ozs.
