Week of events to mark Maybole’s 500th year as a royal burgh

See Robert the Bruce’s sword and Mary Queen of Scots’ necklace at an exhibition marking 500 years of Maybole’s status as a royal burgh.

The exhibition in Maybole Town Hall runs from Thursday, August 24 to Saturday 26 (times below) where you can also see displays of Maps, Photographs, Maybole’s Name and its Global Reach, Bells, Wells and Water.

There is also the Official Opening and Unveiling of the Timeline on Thursday 24th August at 5:30pm and a Community School Dinner and talk on Interpreting History on Friday 25th August 7pm to 8:30pm.

Also running from August 24-26 at the Carrick Centre you can get help to explore your own Family History plus displays of collected archives, Maybole’s Industries and Sport and Leisure in Maybole.

There is also the Premiere of Youth Filming and the Video Record of Maybole 500 on Wednesday 30th August 7pm to 8:30pm.

There are also events on at Greenside and Maybole Castle.

The organisers of the MAbyole 500 events also need volunteers to get involved.
