A night in Stumpy Cells to help the new Girvan pool

Two brave souls are soon to set to undergo a challenge to help raise funds for the new Girvan swimming pool and leisure centre.

Tricia Watts and her friend Susan are set to spend an entire night in the old cells at the Stumpy Tower in Girvan from 10pm-8am.

The duo’s fundraising effort in what is known as one of the coldest places in Girvan is set to take place at some point later this month.

You can sponsor Tricia and Susan at Age Concern, 2 Duff Street, in the Carrick Gazette office at 32 Dalrymple Street or at the Townhouse at 25 Knockcushan Street.

The latest challenge comes hot on the heels of the Gazette’s very own Vicky Barrowcliffe completing a sponsored silence for ten hours last month which raised over £500 for funds towards the swimming pool which is scheduled to open in 2016.

Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated by Tricia and Susan and South Carrick Community Leisure.
