Barr Parish Development Co. Ltd. (BPDC) has applied to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase land and buildings at Dinmurchie, Barr, in Ayrshire.
Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, the NFLS gives communities the opportunity to bid to buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.
The BPDC was set up in 2013 and has set out in a strategic plan the steps it will take to provide new and innovative programmes which will create and deliver the regeneration of the village. The group wish to acquire this site for development to provide resources for use by the local community and help to regenerate the village and parish.
A 28-day open consultation period is required by the scheme and public comments on any aspect of the proposal are welcome.
Details of the application can be viewed on line at www.forestry.gov.uk/nfls and all comments on the proposals detailed in the application must be submitted by Wednesday 13 August.
