You have the chance to find out more about the work the Girvan Lifeboat Station do this Saturday (May 31st) as they hold an open day at the station from 12-4pm.
If you pop along you will have the chance to see the lifeboat and the equipment the crew use as well as having the chance to have a brew with the crew.
Burgers will also be available and you can find out more about volunteering or about the RNLI in any capacity.
r The crew was called out on the morning of May 21 to help a fishing boat, The Loyal Friend, which had ran into trouble. The problem was purely mechanical with a fuel filter problem causing the fishing boat to suffer an engine failure.
The Girvan lifeboat’s ‘Sylvia Burrell’, pictured above successfully brought the fishing boat back into the harbour at Girvan.
