Girvan Community Garden opened its doors on Saturday for a seed swap.

The Seed Swap box was open to help people get their gardening season off to a good start without spending a fortune.

Thinking of volunteering but you are not sure what it is all about?

Girvan Community Garden is a great place to start your volunteering experience. The garden has been going for seven years so far but still likes to see fresh faces and listen to new ideas.

It is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere to potter about the garden or to get really stuck in!

Help them to develop and maintain the garden for years to come. It is not just gardening that you can volunteer for, there are other ways to volunteer with us for example; baking/cooking, serving refreshments at events, helping out at events, driving or carpentry are just some of the examples.

So, if you have spare time and you want to fill that gap by doing something worthwhile you can come and visit the garden and have a chat with us. It is also a great way to learn a few new skills.
