Lorraine Gilchrist, a cleaner at the Nestlé Girvan factory, was keen to contribute to the site’s fundraising efforts for their partner charity, Action for Children.

Lorraine, who is also a childminder, put her thinking cap on and came up with an idea that the 11 children she looks after could contribute to.

Lorraine and the children, including four whose parents actually work at the Nestlé factory, rustled up some festive baking to sell to their parents and Nestlé employees.

Ranging from 2 to 12 years old, Kyle, Billie, Charlie, Kieran, Oliver, Ryan, Aiden, Connor, Kayla, Devon and Charlie all helped Lorraine to make dozens of chocolate chip cookies, mincemeat pies and butter shortbread raising just over £60!

Since June 2012 Nestlé has raised over £3500 through various fundraising events and Lorraine’s efforts are very much appreciated by the site.
