Girvan FC completed a remarkable comeback against first division opponents Beith on Saturday to reach the semi finals of the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup.
Girvan were 3-1 down after 49 minutes but came back to win 5-3 to seal a semi final away to Troon next Monday night (May 5). Kick off is at 7.15pm.
Jordan Ryan was undoubtedly the hero for Girvan at Bellsdale Park, scoring four goals in the quarter final.
Girvan took an early lead through Ryan on six minutes when he fired past the Beith keeper after a ball from David McVittie.
Beith came back into the game though and finally drew level in the 36th minute when a free kick was headed into the net.
And Beith looked to have taken control of the game after the break when they scored two goals in the first five minutes, both from crosses from the right hand side.
However, on the hour mark player-manager Darren Mitchell pulled one back with a header from a McVittie free-kick.
And the sides were level when Ryan intercepted a back pass and rounded the keeper to make it 3-3.
Mitchell turned provider for Ryan with 20 minutes to go when a breakaway pass allowed the striker to complete his treble.
And it was the same again for the fifth ten minutes later when Ryan scored his fourth to complete a fantastic win.
Girvan were at it again on Monday night when they thumped Kello Rovers 6-1 at Hamilton Park on league business. A hat-trick from Alan Orr and further strikes from Craig Harvey, Darren Mitchell and Andrew Hislop sealed all three points.
Next up for Girvan is a trip to newly crowned league champions Irvine Vics tonight (Wednesday) at 7pm before a home match against Saltcoats on Saturday at 2pm.
The latest winner of the clubs 50/50 draw was John McGill who won £107.
