We have lots of news from Brunston this week. First I would like to congratulate Frank Murdoch who won his second round match in the Ayrshire Champion Of Champions tournament. The second round match was played at Brunston and Frank defeated Stephen Brown of Drongan 4&3. Good luck from everyone at the course in your third round match Frank.
On Monday 5th May the Dad’s Army medal was won by Allan McWilliam on a countback with a nett 39. There have been a few countbacks already this season so it looks like the competition is tough in Dad’s Army these days! The ladies medal on Wednesday 7th May was won by Marion Whiteford. Well done to the ladies who braved the weather, it was a tough day for golf! Finally the men played the Strachan Salver on Saturday 10th May. The salver is a bogey competition and John Neilan won with an impressive 0 points.
This coming Friday (the 16th May) sees Brunston Castle return to the Ayrshire men’s scratch league. The team’s first fixture is away to Moorpark. I hope it is a winning return for them.
We are also excited to have our restaurant and bar fully reopening on Thursday 15th May. It will be great to enjoy the views from upstairs in the clubhouse again. I wish Kevin and Paul, who are taking it over, the best of luck.
In future columns I will be providing answers to rules and tuition queries so if you have any questions please email them into email@example.com and I will answer them over the coming weeks.
