Dad’s Army started the week with some good scoring in their 9 hole stableford on Monday the 28th. Jim Rodger won with 23 points, Sam Cochrane was second with 22 points and Jim Millar was third on countback from Ross McGarva. Both of them finished with 19 points.

The good scoring continued through to Wednesday when Dad’s Army and the ladies combined for their monthly 9 hole Tri-Am match. Norma Sadler, Alistair Smith and John McCormick had an amazing 9 under par 27!

The men had a stableford competition, also on Wednesday the 30th. Scott McIlwraith had a superb 41 points and Ross Murchie was second with 38 points.

Sadly the weather at the weekend put a halt to the good scoring but there were some brave golfers who went out to play in the medal/Dunlop Trophy (for over 50’s). The weather defeated most of them except Ronnie Mills and George Scobie who bravely played the full round in the worst of the weather. George Scobie eventually won the trophy by two shots from Ronnie. Well done to both of you, I think you should both get a trophy for playing in that weather!

Next Sunday is our junior open and there are still plenty of spaces. If anyone under 18 with an S.G.U. Handicap would like to play, please call us on 01465 811471 and we will get you a time.
