Haig Gordon cup round two

Lochar thistle v Wigtown and bladnoch kick off 7pm

There are a variety of competitions being played over the weekend and next Wednesday as the football season reaches it’s climax. Wigtown and bladnoch play Crichton once again, this time in the semi final of the challenge cup as they strive for further silverware. The home side are expected to progress but it took two late penalties the last time the two met for Wigtown to seal a league victory so this match could well go close. There are two haig Gordon second round ties scheduled to be played with mid Annandale favourites to beat abbey vale at galabank. The other tie though looks a very open affair with both Newton Stewart and Heston rovers more than capable of going all the way in this competition and it could well take more than the regulation ninety minutes to decide the winner from this contest. In the south of Scotland league st cuthbert wanderers will start as favourites to take the three points from their match against creetown at castle vary park to keep up their challenge at the top.

There are three matches due to be played on Wednesday evening with Heston rovers and dalbeattie star locking horns at Palmerston park to book a place in the final of this seasons challenge cup final with star favourites to go through. The other two matches are haig Gordon second round ties when Crichton will start as favourites to see off the challenge of fleet star while the match between Lochar and Wigtown could go either way.
